The Greenwood Spa
The Dale Manor’s luxury retreat room in the attic is a wonderful area to relax and unwind – or just to escape the dishes in the kitchen or bed-time duties with the little ones… It features a Scandinavian wood sauna, a fabulous jacuzzi style hot tub seating 6 adults comfortably, a west facing sun-set roof terrace with outdoor seating and a large walk in shower and bathroom for your convenience. There is also plenty of comfortable seating to curl up with a good book or magazine.
The Garden
Completed in August 2019, the extensive and beautifully landscaped garden is a fabulous feature on the Dale Manor.
There is a smaller, private, walled garden immediately beyond the kitchen patio, featuring a flower bed and BBQ hut and seating area. Through a little gate you reach the big enclosed garden, which has a children’s play area (one play set for little ones aged 1-4 and another for those aged 5-10), a large sun-set gin deck with picnic tables and sun loungers, two bon fire areas and a huge, level lawn, perfect for games, all the deck chairs or to just run around.
The Manor Garden is a trial project: can a wonderful outside space be shared between different groups, for everyone’s enjoyment? The Dale Cottage & Dale Townhouse have access to the Manor Garden Monday – Thursday and the Allendale Wolf shares the space, if appropriate, over weekends. This provides a fabulous opportunity to socialise with other guests, creates a friendly, communal environment where people chat by the fire, share a sunset drink and children can play. Each Dale property also has its own garden, ensuring there is a private space too. You can also request exclsuive use of the big Dale Manor Garden for a special event or celebration. The Games Cellar
The Old Hotel’s vaulted cellar has been transformed into the ultimate “game cave” with a high quality table football and dart board to really get the competitive spirit going. You can play your favourite tunes via Bluetooth through a speaker and keep your drinks cool in the fridge provided. The atmospheric lighting sets the scene for some fun evenings spent on here – and through the day, the old coal shoot has been turned into a sky light to let in natural daylight.

Allen Valley Catering
We are a small catering team based in the Allen Valley, offering bespoke menus for many different styles of events; canapés, buffets, sit down meals, to name a few. Wherever possible we try and use locally sourced produce. Pictures and reviews can be found on their Facebook page.

Booking fee applies which holds the date and covers bar hire, staff, glassware, licence, insurance etc, everything but the drinks. Booking fee is returned if minimum bar spend met.

There are all-inclusive cocktail bar hire packages, nothing is missed out and more importantly, The Swordmakers take care of 110% of the organisation. Enjoy the luxury of a fully loaded bespoke, mobile cocktail bar, with highly trained bartenders, eager to serve you the perfect Manhattan or to shake up an Espresso Martini. Pay per head and receive drinks tokens to divide among your guests or simply let an open bar run, we will keep an eye on things. The menu will be decided at your discretion, and we will be there to help create some signature recipes if you desire.
