Open-Plan Living Area

Where Great Company Meets Exceptional Style

Welcome to the ultimate social retreat. The Allendale Wolf has been designed from the ground up to keep groups together. Blending rustic Northumberland heritage with a clean, modern aesthetic, this open-plan sanctuary offers an effortless flow between dining, gaming, and relaxing.

The Triple-Threat Centrepiece: Play, Feast, Compete

Why choose between a games room and a dining hall? Our bespoke 3-in-1 Table is a masterclass in functional luxury, ensuring the heart of the house is always where the action is:

• Afternoon Snooker: Challenge your guests to a frame on our professional-grade snooker table.

• The 20-Seat Banquet: Watch the room transform as the table converts into a grand, custom-built dining surface—perfect for long, lazy lunches or formal celebratory dinners for up to 20 guests.

• Post-Dinner Ping Pong: Ready for a rematch? Slip on the custom-fitted table tennis top and turn your dining room into a high-energy arena.

The Chef’s Station

Our self-catering kitchen is a dream for group catering, stocked with professional-grade tools to make feeding a large party a breeze:

• The Range: A high-capacity range cooker with dual oven space and a powerful grill.

• Full-Scale Storage: A dedicated full-sized fridge-freezer for all your chilled essentials.

• The Finer Details: Whether it’s a morning coffee with our plungers or a full Sunday roast using our premium cookware, we’ve provided every pot, pan, and piece of cutlery you’ll need.

Lounge & Listen

When the competition is over, retreat to the snug. It’s a space designed for deep relaxation:

• Oversized Comfort: Three deep-seated sofas packed with plush cushions and weighted throws.

• Analog & Digital: Put on a record for some vintage atmosphere, or fire up the Smart TV for a high-definition movie night.

• Traditional Play: A classic dart board completes the social vibe of the room.

Games and Cinema

The Allendale Wolf offers a bright, airy and wonderfully cosy games room and cinema attic, creating a playful and inviting space for guests of all ages. Thoughtfully designed with families and groups in mind, it includes children’s toys, dress‑up clothes and plenty of quirky touches that add real character to the room.

At the top of the house, you’ll find a pool table, air hockey, comfortable armchairs and a selection of books for anyone who wants to curl up and unwind. The large, plush sofa suite easily seats up to ten people, making it the perfect spot for film nights or for connecting your own gaming equipment. A DVD player is also provided, so you’re welcome to bring along your favourite films.

One of the great advantages of this space is the way it allows groups to spread out and enjoy different activities. Being set well away from the main living areas, it gives everyone the freedom to relax in their own way — children can play upstairs while adults socialise downstairs, or the other way around. Whether it’s a lively cooking and cocktail evening on the ground floor or a quiet movie before bed in the attic, this versatile space offers fantastic flexibility, ensuring everyone has room to do what feels good for them.

Private Garden

Your Outdoor Retreat

The Allendale Wolf enjoys its own private garden, offering a peaceful outdoor space designed for relaxing, dining and spending time together. The lower patio features generous seating and BBQs available on request, making it an ideal spot for al fresco meals. A short set of stone steps leads to a pretty lawned area with additional picnic benches, framed by lavender, roses and colourful seasonal blooms. This sheltered suntrap has a naturally charming feel — perfect for unwinding with a drink, stargazing on warm evenings or enjoying a relaxed BBQ with the whole group.

Beyond the main patio, the garden opens out into an extended outdoor area created for comfort and enjoyment. Here you’ll find a private hot tub, a cosy seating space and dedicated BBQ facilities, offering the perfect setting for summer nights, celebrations or simply soaking up the tranquillity of the countryside.

Step outside into your own private oasis. Whether you’re sinking into the hot tub beneath the stars or gathering around the BBQ for an easygoing outdoor feast, the Wolf’s garden provides a beautiful backdrop for memorable moments in the fresh Northumberland air.

Parking

Allendale Wolf has space for around four cars directly outside the front door (or up to eight if double‑parked). These spaces are public and not owned by us, so they can’t be reserved — but guests consistently find parking close by without any difficulty.

The property sits on Allendale Market Place, which offers plenty of additional parking around the square. At peak times — particularly around 4pm on a Friday, when locals pop to the Co‑op after school or stop in for an after‑work pint — the square can feel a little busier. By early evening, usually by around 7pm, the spaces outside The Wolf tend to free up again, so guests can simply move their cars over whenever it suits them.

Allendale is affectionately known for the slightly creative parking habits of its residents, so don’t be surprised to see a few adventurous configurations in the centre of the square. It’s all part of the village charm.

Internet and mobile signal

The Allendale Wolf is equipped with WiFi for guests to use during their stay. As we are located in the heart of the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, mobile and data coverage can vary depending on your network and where you are in the building. EE generally offers the strongest signal in Allendale, although reception can still differ indoors due to the property’s traditional structure.
