The Rooms at the Dale Manor
Once Brewed is our sunny double aspect bedroom painted in Farrow & Ball’s Ground Yellow and featuring a grey upholstered king-sized bed with storage drawers. The windows look out on two sides to different areas of the Market Place – you won’t miss a thing of the goings on in Allendale. The room has wood flooring and can accommodate up to two guests.The ensuite bathroom features a shower cubicle, toilet and wash basin as well as towel radiator. There is also a smart 32inch TV with FreeSat so you can catch up with news, your favourite show or cosy up for a movie in your room.
Turret can be set up in two different ways: as a king-sized double or as a twin – please specify when booking. The cosy yet elegant room is painted in Farrow & Ball’s Charleston Grey with purple accents and local artwork on display. The south-facing window overlooks the hustle and bustle of Allendale Market Place.
With wooden flooring, two bedside tables & lamps, under bed drawers, plenty of plug sockets and an ensuite bathroom featuring a shower, toilet and sink, this room can accommodate 2 guests very comfortably indeed. There is also a smart 32-inch TV with FreeSat for your convenience – or when you cannot agree with the others what to watch downstairs.
Chesters is painted in Farrow & Ball’s most popular Stiffkey Blue and features a leather sleigh king-sized bed with storage drawers, bedside tables, lamps and a south-facing window overlooking the west side of Allendale’s Market Place.
With wooden floors and an ensuite bathroom featuring a shower, sink, toilet and heated towel rail, this room can accommodate two guests in comfort and style. There is also a 32-inch smart TV with FreeSat in this bedroom.
Vindolanda is a twin room, painted in Farrow & Ball’s Inchyra Blue, a moody colour perfectly matched with the mustard curtains, featuring bedside tables & lamps, a chest of drawers and under bed drawers. A large ensuite includes a shower, toilet, wash basin, towel rail and shelf. It has wooden flooring and overlooks the garden of the Dale.
There is also a 32-inch smart TV with FreeSat so that you can catch up with news, your favourite show or relax with a movie in the comfort of your own room.
Hadrians is one of our family rooms featuring a double bed and two single beds (one of the single beds can also be turned into a double, please advise if you require this room to sleep 5 guests).
With its dual aspect overlooking the Market Place to the south and east, decorated with Farrow & Ball’s fabulous Nancy’s Blushes shade of soft pink, this room is ideal for parents with younger children.
The ensuite bathroom features a shower, toilet, wash basin and heated towel rail, and storage is provided via four large under-bed drawers and hooks. There is also a 32-inch smart TV with FreeSat and a DVD player in our family room, so that you, or the wee ones, can watch a favourite movie or show in their own room.
Cawfields is the largest room at the Dale Manor. Hugely spacious, it features a king-sized bed and two single beds (one of the single beds can also be turned into a double – please advise if you require this room to sleep 5 guests).
Two large windows overlook the Market Place, making this a light and bright room with an ensuite bathroom that has the only bath in the house (with a screen and shower over). A wardrobe made from the old hotel’s upcycled floorboards and four large under-bed drawers provide plenty of storage.
Painted in Farrow & Ball’s French Grey, this chic room accommodates 4–5 guests. There is also a 32-inch smart TV with FreeSat and a DVD player in our family room, so that you, or the wee ones, can watch a favourite movie or show in their own room.
Walltown is a characterful room featuring exposed original beams and two charming windows overlooking the garden, a large ensuite bathroom with a shower, wash basin, toilet and heated towel rail. The comfortable double bed with bedside tables and lights can accommodate two guests.
An under-stairs cupboard provides plenty of storage and hanging space for clothes – in addition to a chest of drawers. There is also a smart 32-inch TV with FreeSat for your convenience – or when you cannot agree what to watch downstairs.
The Greenwood Spa
The Dale Manor’s luxury retreat room in the attic is a wonderful area to relax and unwind – or just to escape the dishes in the kitchen or bed-time duties with the little ones… It features a Scandinavian wood sauna, a fabulous jacuzzi style hot tub seating 6 adults comfortably, a west facing sun-set roof terrace with outdoor seating and a large walk in shower and bathroom for your convenience. There is also plenty of comfortable seating to curl up with a good book or magazine.
The Garden
There is a smaller, private, walled garden immediately beyond the kitchen patio, featuring a flower bed and BBQ hut and seating area. Through a little gate you reach the big enclosed garden, which has a children’s play area (one play set for little ones aged 1-4 and another for those aged 5-10), a large sun-set gin deck with picnic tables and sun loungers, two bon fire areas and a huge, level lawn, perfect for games, all the deck chairs or to just run around.

The Games Cellar
The Manors vaulted cellar has been transformed into the ultimate “game cave” with a high quality table football and dart board to really get the competitive spirit going. You can play your favourite tunes via Bluetooth through a speaker and keep your drinks cool in the fridge provided. The atmospheric lighting sets the scene for some fun evenings spent on here – and through the day, the old coal shoot has been turned into a sky light to let in natural daylight.

Allen Valley Catering
We are a small catering team based in the Allen Valley, offering bespoke menus for many different styles of events; canapés, buffets, sit down meals, to name a few. Wherever possible we try and use locally sourced produce. Pictures and reviews can be found on their Facebook page.

The Spice Valley

The Lion House
The Lion is a country pub with a modern, contemporary twist. with the newly decorated bar area, wood burner and pool table. You can book the upstairs Lion House for exclusive use of your group. Its new layout is relaxed and atmospheric and a mere 200 yards from the Dale Manor and Wolf, with fabulous local ales, larger and a good selection of wine and spirits too.
The Lion provides 10% off all food and drinks (when bought together) for all Dale Holiday Ltd guests during their stay.

The Kings Head
The Kings is located next door to the Lion and is a traditional country pub with an open fire. The Kings currently offer food on a Thursday, Friday and Saturday. These days normally increase around bank holiday and the summer season so it’s worth checking for availability.

There are all-inclusive cocktail bar hire packages, nothing is missed out and more importantly, The Swordmakers take care of 110% of the organisation. Enjoy the luxury of a fully loaded bespoke, mobile cocktail bar, with highly trained bartenders, eager to serve you the perfect Manhattan or to shake up an Espresso Martini. Pay per head and receive drinks tokens to divide among your guests or simply let an open bar run, we will keep an eye on things.
